Servers
Servers are useful when multiple Transports are checking the same location with different filters.
For example, if multiple Transports are checking the same POP3 mailbox for different matching email, then a Server can be used.
This means that Crossfire will login to the mailbox once and check each if each email matches an existing Transport rule which is assigned to the Server.
This means only one connection is used for multiple Transports and can greatly reduce overhead on infrastructure.
If is used for FTP, then an administrator account is recommended. It will login, then check each input folder from the assigned transports and log off. Meaning that only one connection is used to check multiple locations and retrieve multiple files.
Servers are only available for POP3 and FTP* currently.
* FTP Servers are not currently being used in any production environment.
