Exercise 1
This exercise will give an overview of forwarding a file using the message routing functions within Crossfire. It consists of the following steps:
Setup Inbound Transport
This transport will be configured to retrieve files from a folder and load them into Crossfire Messaging.
Login to portaltest.crossfireedi.com
Select the Messaging module in the top right of the screen.
Select Transports, and click New
This Transport will be configured to receive files from a folder. We need to enter the location of the folder to check.
Configure the Transport as in the images below:
You will need to navigate to to \\SALTEST1\c$\Crossfire\ExerciseFolder and create a folder structure for YourName\In (tip: the above image shows SALWEBTST2V which is an invalid server).
In this example, we are not going to pass the message to the Crossfire Engine for processing, so we will leave the System field empty.
A Transport must be either Routed to another Transport or passed to a System for processing.
Setup Outbound Transport
This transport will be configured to send files to a specified folder. We need to enter the location of folder to deliver the files to.
Repeat the steps in part one to create a new Transport.
Setup the Transport as shown in the image below:
You will need to navigate to to \\SALTEST1\c$\Crossfire\ExerciseFolder and create a folder structure for YourName\Out (tip: the above image shows SALWEBTST2V which is an invalid server)
Setup Transport Route
We have setup a Transport to receive a file and one to send a file, we can link these together to create an automated forwarding route. This can be done across mediums, for example you could forward from a Folder to Email etc.
Select Transport Routes, and click New.
Select the inbound and outbound Transports to link.
Configure the Route as shown in the image below.
The matching fields allow you to Route messages if they meet a certain criteria, for example you could only route messages which contains a specific subject.
4. Test
Create a new text file in the 'In' folder. Since Crossfire does not consider 0b files you will need to put some filler text in the file before it gets moved.
If after this the file is still not being transported to the 'Out' folder, check the folder locations on the transports (Copy and paste the file path from the windows explorer to make sure it is correct).
